Raising the kittens
[Week 1] [Week 2] [Week 3] [Week 4] [Week 5] [Week 6 tot 8] [Week 9 tot 12] [Extra]

Starting walking Week 3
The weight is now between 215 to 420 gram and they are starting to explore the box. They will also try to climb out of it, so watch your footsteps as they might wander across your room.
If the kittenbox is placed in a safe room you can make an opening in the frontside of the box so they can get in and out easily. You might also feel comfortable by placing the box in a bigger kittencage so they can move without any danger at all. This is f.e. quite handy in the livingroom when you are working during the daytime.
The initial teeth develop during this week too so be carefull with electric wires and cabling. The teeth are very sharp and you will undoubtly find yourself with a kitten biting your finger(s).

Feeding first bites
First food After 3 and a half week kittens should get used to baby Whiskas. If you have a big nest, you do better start some earlier to relief the mothercat.
Take the kittens on your BOSOM one by one and prepare little balls en and put these in their mouths; most of the time they spit it out but patience is often rewarded. Try to vary flavours so the kittens don't prefer just one specific taste. You can weigh the kitten before and after the meal to determine if they gained weight. After a week they will feed themselves independantly.
Cleanliness
Put them after every meal on the kitten-kattenbak for a while to make them familair and to have them clean. Please observe that they don't hold the grind for candy.
